Library Services & Policies Questions About Borrowing

Reserve Materials

  • What type of Reserve Material does St. Francis College Library have?

There are two types of Reserve Material at SFC Library:

Professors’ Reserve -- books, videos, and other printed material kept in the library by a professor for his or her class.

BEETET Reserve, also known as SGA (Student Government Association) Reserve -- textbooks purchased by the Student Government Association.

  • Where are the Reserve Materials located?

Both Professors’ Reserve and BEETET Reserve are located at the Circulation Desk, at the entrance to St. Francis College Library. You must have a valid St. Francis College I.D. to borrow material. All items borrowed at the Circulation Desk must be returned to the Circulation Desk.

  • How long may I check out a given item?

Reserve Textbooks and other Reserve material circulate for two hours and may be renewed for an additional loan period if no one placed a hold on a specific book or video/DVD.

  • What are the charges for an overdue item?

The fine for all Reserve items is $1 (One Dollar) per hour or any part thereof. The maximum fine for Reserve materials is $50 (Fifty Dollars).

Students will be blocked from borrowing Library materials if they have $50 or more in outstanding fines.

If you have any questions, contact the Circulation Desk at 718-489-5205.
